Meet Frank Mélotte
We’d like to introduce you to our Nassau tax specialists. Frank Mélotte is up first!
Frank works at the intersection of international tax law and cross-border employment, with a strong focus on expatriates. He advises organizations and individuals on the tax and social security implications of working internationally, ranging from the application of the 30% ruling and the Highly Skilled Migrant Scheme to issues concerning permanent establishments and tax treaties.
In practice, he is often called upon when organizations send employees abroad or host them from abroad. This includes setting up expat programs, assessing the risks associated with cross-border workers who telecommute, or evaluating the impact of international collaboration structures. In doing so, Frank looks beyond the technical aspects alone. He has a keen eye for what a client truly needs and knows how to focus on that.
It is precisely when issues are complex that his strengths really shine. Frank doesn’t let challenging cases slow him down; instead, he breaks them down into concrete next steps. This is how he works toward a practical and well-reasoned solution. By analytically guiding clients through his thought process, he often uncovers insights that were previously hidden.
What sets him apart is his combination of technical expertise and interpersonal skills. He connects easily with people, builds trust, and at the same time brings the level of expertise required to tackle complex international issues. This combination means that he doesn’t just offer advice—he truly adds value.
Outside of work, Frank serves as a city council member, enjoys reading, and is learning Spanish.
