The A1 Declaration Is Going Digital

The European Commission has proposed the European Social Security Pass (ESSPASS).

As a result, the A1 will soon be available digitally and immediately verifiable through the EU Digital Identity Wallet.

For employees and employers, this means, above all:

  • less paperwork

  • Faster proof of social security coverage

  • Simpler cross-border inspections

  • Greater clarity when working internationally

The rules regarding where a person is covered by social insurance will not change. However, the administration and oversight of these rules will become much more digital.

A positive development for Global Mobility: less paperwork, greater efficiency, and improved cross-border compliance.
